Private Health Insurance

 

We accept all major private health funds, however an outpatient appointment with an ophthalmologist is rarely rebatable by private health funds. A private health fund rebate will only come into affect if you are admitted to hospital for surgery.

 

At Central Lakes Eye Clinic we can offer a "Known Gap" scheme for cataract surgery and other selected operations. We participate with the following health funds:

 

• All health funds that fall under AHSA health fund

• All health funds that fall under BUPA health fund

• All health funds that fall under MEDIBANK PRIVATE health fund

• HCF

 

Conditions do apply with the "Known Gap" so please be sure to ask our friendly administration staff.

 

Medicare

 

Most of our services can be claimed with Medicare. Our friendly receptionist is able to lodge your medicare claim the same day as your appointment. Medicare will then process your claim and transfer your rebate into the provided bank details you have registered with them.

 

Methods of Payment

 

After the consultation is completed, the patient will be issued with an invoice. This is required to pay at the time of the visit. We will accept payment by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card (MasterCard or Visa). Once the total amount has been paid, we are able to lodge the receipt to Medicare in order to receive the Federal Government Rebate.

 

If the patients consultation fees are being paid by a Third Party the invoice may be sent directly to the third party involved providing there is prior approval.

 

If WorkCover is involved with your consultation, the account will be the responsibility of the patient and will require payment at the time of consultation.
